The people area is where you manage how you want to segment your data and who you are going to survey.
There are seven sub-menu items under the main People menu.
- Custom Filters
This is where you add and manage the people (your employees) you are going to survey. At the simplest level you only need their name and email address, but you'll probably also want to segment survey results into different areas.
There are 5 main ways in which you can segment your data. These segments are used to group and filter your data when viewing the survey reports and analysis.
We use these terms by default but essentially you can segment your data in any way you like. So whilst our naming suggest a segment structure may be Technology/London/Support/1st Line/John Smith, you may not require this organisational style structure, and prefer (for example) to segment by Team/Role/Gender/Tenure/Manager.
When you schedule a survey, the segmentation data assigned to each person gets 'locked in' to that survey. This means, if in the future the data changes, it won't affect the structure of the results from the prior survey.
With custom filters you can add further segmentation capability to your survey reports and analysis. These are similar to the 5 segments explained above, but one key difference is these aren't locked into each survey. They are 'live' filters - changes to your people data with custom filters will affect all surveys past and present.
